Citizens Development Center is periodically featured in area newspapers and corporate newsletters. We also educate the public about the good work of the agency and the capabilities of our clients on community affairs programs on radio and television. We are also available to the media as experts in the disabilities field.

IMG_0660The above quote by Ram Das sums up the way our staff feels.  Every month we would like to spot light one of our staff members and show how what they do really makes a difference in the lives they touch daily.

This month we would like to introduce you to Linda Wilson, a floor supervisor.  Linda actually started working at the Center as a personal attendant.

CDC-024Citizens Development Center has a new partner-Crull Fitness.  Together, we have joined forces to improve the health of both the employees and clients.  Every Tuesday you can find a Crull trainer working with the clients teaching exercise classes focusing on cardio, strength, balance, and coordination.  Our clients love it.  One client stated he likes everything about this new program; especially the weights and building his muscles.

Crull has not only taken an active role in teaching, but also contracted with their vendors to repair several pieces of exercise equipment that are now operational.  Our employees can now be seen using this equipment at lunch and on breaks.  Watch out...we're getting fit here at Citizens Development Center thanks to Crull Fitness.

Ray-and-Mildred-BellIf you haven't been by the Center lately then you have not had the opportunity to see the new Brad Bell Day Habilitation Program which was launched on February 1, 2010.

Day Habilitation services are designed to provide services that foster personal growth and opportunities for physical and social integration.  Due to some of CDC clients having physical limitations, medical issues, aging concerns, or, in some instances, a lack of interest, the Brad Bell Day Habilitation Program provides them a place to work on other skills.
