The Dash for Dignity is a 5K run, 1 mile fun run/walk and family fair in Irving-Las Colinas.
This event raises funds and awareness for Citizens Development Center (CDC), a non-profit serving adults with intellectual, mental health and/or physical disabilities. In 2013, more than 800 attendees enjoyed music, carnival games, kids’ activities, raffles, artists and fantastic food vendors before and after the run/walk along Lake Carolyn in the heart of downtown Las Colinas. The Dash has been co-chaired and emceed by local sports reporter, Mike Doocy of KDFW Fox 4 News and his wife Ruth for 20 years. The Dash brings together the families, friends, and community supporters of the more than 350 adults with disabilities enrolled in programs at CDC.
