CDC Foundation (formerly Children's Development Center Foundation) was organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency in 1970 following a substantial bequest of land, cash and financial holdings from Faye Piper McIntire. All holdings were and are restricted for use by Citizens Development Center, a Texas nonprofit corporation. Over the years, the foundation has funded the acquisition of new machinery and equipment for Citizens Development Center's work center, a fence and playground at its Oak Cliff facility and badly needed operating revenue for the agency.
The Kinney Dumas fund is also held in the foundation. Kinney was a client at Citizens Development Center and his father Jack Dumas served on the board for many years. When Kinney passed away, this fund was created by board resolution to accept memorial donations. This fund is restricted to the purchase of plants and flowers for the atrium at Citizens Development Center on Ambassador Row.
Over the years, various other donations have been made to the foundation. Additional gifts to ensure the continued operation of Citizens Development Center's programs and services are welcome.
